Upper School

The Upper School at Kamuzu Academy provides a rigorous and internationally focused education within a supportive and vibrant community where students discover their passions, challenge themselves, and grow into confident global citizens.

Upper School (Forms 4–5: IGCSE)

Students prepare for internationally recognized IGCSE exams. Greek students also sit ICCG examinations in Form 5.

Sixth Form (Form 6: A Levels)

Students specialize in three to four A Level subjects, preparing for global university entry.

The Sixth Form at Kamuzu Academy follows the Cambridge International A Level curriculum, which is a two-year course designed to prepare students for university entry both locally and internationally. Students typically specialize in three to four subjects, carefully selected to align with their career aspirations and higher education goals.

The A Level program emphasizes critical thinking, independent research, and subject mastery, ensuring that students develop both depth of knowledge and transferable skills such as problem-solving, analysis, and academic writing.

At Kamuzu Academy, Sixth Form students benefit from:

A Level bridges the gap between IGCSE and undergraduate studies. For students who intend to study at universities in Malawi, A Level also help them to be much better prepared for their degree level studies, as well as enabling them to enter their degree in Year 2.
